At Maison de Cils®, beauty is more than an art, it is a ritual of precision & care. Our aftercare routine embodies the same standards of excellence that define each of our services. With proper maintenance, your hair extensions remain as flawless & refined as the day they were applied.
01 Allow 48 hours before washing
Do not wash your hair for the first 48 hours following application. This essential setting period allows the adhesive to reach its optimal bond and helps prevent premature lifting or slippage.
02 Choose your shampoo carefully
Use a sulfate-free, oil-free shampoo formulated to cleanse without compromising the adhesive. Apply gently at the roots, avoiding excessive friction around the bonds.
03 Keep conditioner away from the bonds
Apply conditioner exclusively through the mid-lengths and ends. Oils and conditioning agents applied near the roots can weaken the adhesive and compromise the hold of your extensions.
04 Brush with precision
Beginning at the ends, work gradually upward toward the roots using a soft-bristle or extension-safe brush. Support the hair near the bonds while brushing to minimise tension on your natural hair and extensions.
05 Never apply direct heat to the tapes
Straighteners, curling irons and other heated tools should never come into direct contact with the adhesive bonds. Excessive heat can soften the adhesive and cause premature slippage.
06 Blow-dry with care
Keep the dryer in constant motion and avoid concentrating high heat directly on the tapes. Dry the roots thoroughly before proceeding through the lengths and ends.
07 Never sleep with wet hair
Your hair and roots should be completely dry before going to bed. Sleeping with damp extensions encourages tangling and places unnecessary tension on both the bonds and your natural hair.
08 Protect your hair while sleeping
Before bed, gently brush your extensions and secure the hair in a loose braid or low ponytail. A silk or satin pillowcase can further reduce friction throughout the night.
09 Use masks only on the lengths and ends
Hair masks may be incorporated into your routine to maintain softness and condition, but they should never be applied to the tape bonds.
10 Use oils and serums sparingly
Apply finishing oils, anti-frizz products and serums exclusively to the mid-lengths and ends. Keep oil-based and silicone-rich formulas away from the adhesive.
11 Protect from heat before styling
Apply a suitable heat protectant through the lengths and ends before using heated styling tools. Always respect the recommended temperature for both your natural hair and extensions.
12 Protect your extensions from prolonged sun exposure
Extended exposure to sunlight and heat can affect both the hair and adhesive. When spending prolonged periods outdoors, protect your hair with a hat or a suitable UV-protective hair product.
13 Do not color or bleach installed extensions
Any color transformation should be planned before application. Bleach, colour and chemical treatments can compromise both the extension hair and the adhesive bonds.
